Yes, ditched those. You are talking the comm.adobe.InDesign.plist in my Users\Library\prefs?
I did did get to the bottom by scrolling til it finally stopped at 'other library'. It will let me open one at a time but places it at the bottom along with the other library. I don't really want to scroll thru the continuous list each time.
Give up yet??!! Thanks for all your help so far.

Got to admit that I do not have any more suggestions bar re-installing BUT there are people who are far more knowledgeable than myself on here so maybe one of them could suggest something.
