Lost Post: Scroll text doent with photo - Macromedia Director Basics

I have a pdf doent (text with a photo) that was made in word on a mac. I want the user to be able to view the doent and scroll it in the director project. I have made a duplicate of the doent, but don't know how to put the photo on it. Posted this earlier today and was about to retrieve the response when your maintenance procedure occurred. I found your erlier ost and my reponce:

Director doesn't really support page composition scrolling like you get
    in a web browser.

Here are a couple of workaround schemes.

One can use trickey lingo code to scroll multiple score channels in sync
(changing locV properties of sprites) use masking art for top and bottom
cut off points. Scroll bars are made of about 4 sprite and custon code.

There also have been image srollers done with imaging lingo in which
part of a large image is copied to a smaller display bitmap member. THis
scheme works easiest if text and picture can be precombined into a
    single composite bitmap.

It's also possible to display thins in a seperate movie in a window
file, with code changing the SourceRect and the drawRect to bring a
different part of it's stage into view, this setup is easiest to scroll
with a hand cursor drag interface rather than scroll bars.

Thanks for the reply. I made a copy of my doent in photoshop and saved it as
a jpeg. Is the imaging lingo you refer to under "Image" in the lingo
dictionary? I've also found that you can import and open a pdf file using
ActiveX controls. Will this help me? This is a whole new world for me.
