My system displays an "lsass.exe - application error"
window with this message: "the application failed to
implement properly (0xc0000033)" everytime I attempt to
launch Windows XP Pro.

The error began occuring right after an "automated"
windows update downloaded and completed its installation.

I installed WIN2000 on a second disk drive and I can
access the NTFS file system containing the XP
configuration. Thus I am able to manipulate directories
and files on the XP disk drive.

Not one of the very few message threads I have managed to
locate on the web and implement relating to this error
message and has granted me access to my original XP
configuration thus far.

Nor has the solution referenced by the following link
resulted in any success:
http://computing.net/windowsxp/wwwb...orum/46198.html.
I a have copied files from the last five(5) and most
recent hidden "System Volume Information" directories to
back to the windows\system32\config directory and
rebooted. Doing so has yielded the same error each time I
have attempted to launch the XP configuration.

Lastly, I used XP setup boot disks to launch the XP
Recovery Console. But nothing available from the console
appears to be able to help me bypass the error.

I really do NOT want to have to reload XP and reinstall
every application that I have. There must be a workaround
this error. Can anyone shed some light on this specific
error? Thanks in adance.
