Default lxiv page transitions

Hi I'm a newbie so please be patient.

www.lxiv.com has some intruiging page transitions. I'm interested in the body of the site itself, not so much the intro. If I wanted to go down this road as far as design goes, which way would I head?

1. The graphics themselves act like hotspots. How does one do this?
2. There seems to be one graphic that loops, squashes together and opens when the mouse moves over it - help!

Thanks for your time.
patrick

The graphical hotspots you see are actually just graphic buttons. All you have to do is create a graphic
and convert to symbol by right clicking on graphic. Name button, and away you go. You can change the graphic in each of the button states to give it mouse over and hit effects, add text ect. To give it advanced mouse over effects, you need to insert a movie clip in the over state. A movie clip is the repeated animation you were seeing. You can create one by going to Insert>New Symbol. Its just like the stage in the main scene, except you drag it from the library into the main scene. You can give movie clips many functions with action scripting....button effects, load effects, or just loop in the background as you see in your sample site. Hope this helps. You really need to read up on movie clips, what they are and how they work.
