    Todd,

That doesn't make sense. I suspect your friend is misreading the error
    message or has something misconfigured.

What video format did you use for the newly encoded file? What's the
file extension? The Quicktime browser plugin can handle a variety of
file formats, although it often has trouble with .avi and .mov files,
depending on what software was used to create them. If I have a problem
with a video, I save it locally and then try viewing it with VideoLAN
Client (vlc) or MPlayer. vlc can handle a lot of files that stump
Quicktime Player. And I've had MPlayer work on files that vlc couldn't
handle. Both are free downloads and can be found on VersionTracker
    (www.versiontracker.com).

Oh, and it's Mac. Not MAC; that's the sort of thing that starts flames
    around here. {:-O

    Hope that helps,
    Hank

Upload up an example somewhere so others can see if they can te
the problem. The AOL warning is very weird, though, and would suggest a
    misconfiguration on your friend's machine.

Secondly it would be useful to know what OS your friend is working on:
OS 9.X, or some flavour of OS X. Browser type might help too.
