Mac driver for Linksys etherfast LAN card? - Mac Networking

Linksys does not appear to make a Mac driver for their Etherfast 10/100 LAN card (I have a LNE100tx ver 5.1), so I'm looking for a "hackware" driver or some other means to get this card to work in the PCI slot of an older Power Mac computer (OS 9.2.2)....

Might not work but try this site:

True#16Others

I used it with a D-Link card before they came out with the official
drivers for OS 9. I did have to patch the driver to get it to recognize
the card.

How, or what did you do to patch it?

It may not be necessary with the current drivers but I used a hex editor
(Hexedit 1.8.5 http://store.ifd.com/!products/hexedit/index.html)
to find and replace, in two places in the driver extension, the default
card name with the one shown in the Apple System Profiler under the
devices and volumes tab. I think it was something like PCI,1001e. The
patch instructions came with the driver albeit in somewhat broken
English.

The card was a D-Link DFE530TX+
