Mac IE: should I even bother
Should I even bother to test JavaScript on Mac Internet Explorer? On the one
hand, it's a HUGE pain and Microsoft can't even be bothered with Mac IE
anymore. However, I keep running across Mac users (some of them clients) who
have IE on their fairly new machines. It's also been my experience that
non-savvy users tend to have browsers 1-2 years out of date. I also have this
theory that scripts should be tested on the crappiest browser, and Mac IE
qualifies.
What say you? Dinosaur or necessary evil?
For the record, I would like nothing better than to forget about Mac IE in the
same way left behind 640x480 screens; I just don't know if it's really the
right decision.

Re: Mac IE: should I even bother
Look at the kinds of screens representative members of each of those classes
use, and what their customers/clients use. Build sites for those specific
screens. No single answer is likely to suit them all.

Hi,
If you ask me, if your application works on MAC on Safari, Firefox, Mozilla and Camino it's enough.

Re: Mac IE: should I even bother
If they use pre OSX then they will be using IE. Very good chance non profits
still use the older imacs and such, so they'll be on IE. All my non profits and
really small businesses still use it. I wouldn't worry about it until you get
a job where they use IE for Mac. Make that one of your questions when you quote
the job. Then worry about it. As far as their customers go, there's no way of
knowing. Here's a for instance.. We service the entire school system in my
state. All those teachers and their family members, only about 5% are pre OSX.
Use that stat for what its worth.
Good luck.
