Same rules apply as for non-games/non-mac titles really. Make sure you get
it on as many shareware download sites as possible. Try and get it listed
on as many news sites as possible. Try to get it on magazines (that's the
biggie - it gives "common" people access to your stuff ;-) The other biggie
is to actually get your game listed in the Mac OS X downloads section of
apple.com. From what I can tell Apple find you more than you find them
(that's what happened to me anyway).
www.idevgames.com used to be the biggest resource for Mac OS X game dev but
that's been down for a long while now. Try taking a look at
createmacgames.org. It's new and perhaps not as good as idevgames, but it's
all that's around for now, and there should be some good stuff to find
As for sales numbers, it's a given that you can't begin to get anything
like as much as you could for Windows, unless your product really stands
out. If it is really great, then it will sell for the reason that there
isn't really that great a selection of great games for the Mac.
