I'm on several YahooGroups, and I know that, at least a year ago, I
could use the YahooGroup chats no problem. But I didn't much. Now,
I really want/need to, but I can't.

I'm on an iBook (bought in 2001 -- it's lime green; not sure what
model to call it). I use Netscape 7.0 [Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U;
PPC; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20020823 Netscape/7.0]. I'm still on OS
9.x (because I don't want to attempt an upgrade until after I've
written and submitted my last assignment for a current course, and
because I'm still not sure if my iBook can handle OS X).

So, I'm in a YahooGroup. I click on "chat" at the left. I come to the
Yahoo chat screen, with proper headings and menus and what not. But
in the space where the chat text should occur, there's a big almost
blank box. In the very center of this box is an image indicating a
broken image link, and underneath it are the words "download
plug-in."

So, I click on this link, and then come to another Yahoo screen that says
"The requested URL /c174/ was not found on this server."

Yahoo materials (and the canned response I got from Yahoo) says that
Yahoo! Chat is compatible with Netscape 3.0+. It also says for
Netscape 6.x or 4.x for Windows or Mac:
* Select "Edit" from your menu bar, select "Preferences..." and then
choose the "Advanced" category.
* Both "Enable Java" and "Enable JavaScript" should be checked.
and
Netscape 3.x for Windows or Mac:
* Select "Options" from your menu bar and choose "Network Preferences".
* Click on the Languages tab.
* Both "Enable Java" and "Enable Javascript" should be checked.

I've done all this. But it still doesn't work.

So, anyone on a Mac, with NetScape 7.0, accessing YahooChats and, if
so, any advice to help me?
