Mac vs PC

I hope I'm not going to sound too stupid, but as both a newbie to this
group, and to DTP in general, I am on the verge of purchasing InDesign, to
try to produce my own mail order brochure.

As nobody replied to an earlier post, I am doing this somewhat blind, and
very apprehensively!

Am I correct in thinking that the functionality / usability / usefulness of
ID is the same whether I opt for Mac or PC (I've never used a Mac)
