    Default Macintosh Monitor Profile Defective

When I start Elements 2 on my Macintosh, I get a message like "Monitor profile "xxxxx" appears defective. Rerun monitor callibration software." It doesn't matter what profile I choose or create.
The program usually "unexpectedly quits" a little after I click on one of the buttons in the above message.
I have the first run of Mac G4's and am using OS 9.2.1. I have reinstalled the Monitor Control Panel and profiles. I have reinstalled Elements twice. I can run the PC version on Virtual PC, but would rather use the Mac environment.

Have you tried deleting the Monitor Preferences? It sounds kinda scary, but I deleted the keyboard preferences on my Mac G4 550 running 9.1 a while back, after problems using keyboard commands. And, dang, it fixed it! However, I'd recommend just moving the folder out of System>Preferences without a full trash and dump. If the problem clears up, then you can complete the toss. It does sound like there could be a corruption issue.
