Macintosh System Error(-39)
We moved some files around our pc network. After doing so all my eps & ai files are now generic files. When I am opening the Illustrator ai and eps I get a message
'Acrobat PDF File Format is having difficulties. There was a Macintosh System Error (-39).'
I cannot open the file.
I am on a Mac OS 10.2.8
Illustrator 10
The files could have been created in anything from Illustrator 6-10.
I have tried deleting my preference folder from the user/library/preferences
Didn't help.

Re: Macintosh System Error(-39)
Hi Jennifer,
Are the files you are opening on your local hard drive or on a network drive? If on a network drive, try copying the files to your local hard drive before opening them. Also you may want to check the file size.
I *think* error -39's usually point to corrupt files, but it would be strange for ALL your files to have become damaged just by moving them from one server to another.

Re: Macintosh System Error(-39)
Some times the answer is so obvious you forget to look there.
Thank you, that worked.
