Macromedia's Cursor_Mask example?
Does anyone know how to accomplish a traveling matte similar to when a circle mask follows the cursor and reveals the layer below.
The best example I could find was by macromedia "Cursor_mask", yet it requires your top layer set to be 50-70% opacity to see anything. The result does in fact make the lower layer show through yet it looks like it produces an ink/transfer mode effect similar to what we know in photoshop as multiplied. See their example: http://www.macromedia.com/go/15496
I know the alphamania extra will do this "reveal" trick, but is there a way to do it without an expensive X-tra?.
another file example out there called "alphascratch" that does this but in a "paint away" fashion when you drag your mouse as opposed to a show through. Maybe some of your have seen it.
Basically, I just want the bottom layer to show through 100% when the top layer (a different image)is 100%

Re: Macromedia's Cursor_Mask example?
if you are talking about a standard magnifier or x-ray effect involving
a mouse tracking mask position, this is accomplished by having controled
graphic having mask ink assigned, the net member over acts as it's mask,
and the regpoint of the mask member is dynamically changed to follow
mouse motion. To move the mask down, it's Y regpoint must be decresed.
