Mail.app: disconnecting from Internet?
When I choose "disconnect from the Internet" in OS 10.2.6's Mail.app
noting at all happens. Whether the Mac is currently online or offline
Mail.app always assumes it has a live Internet connection. So any mail
sent provoces Mail.app to try to connect to the SMTP server (which fails
with an error when not online) before placing the mail into the outgoing
mailbox.
How and where can this behavior be influenced? Is there a way to tell
Mail.app explicitely to send out any mail in the outgoing mailbox
(similar to manually receiving mail)?
