Mailguard/spamfilter problems - Mac Networking

Hello all.... I'm using an iMac 9.1 w/Netscape 4.7. The most # of message filters I'm allowed to set (by the iMac) is 5, yet they don't always work good. Still, I'm getting mail filtered from former words I've filtered pretty consistantly..........odd......... Re Mailguard, I always pass on spam to the Bellsouth mailbox but I don't see anyplace in the Mailguard that would allow me to enter filter words........ Any suggestions from the BS or Mac pros out there? Thanks in advance.....Dan...

Nothing regarding Macs, but the Mailguard Anti-Spam is either Off or On
(at least it can be turned off). The filtering is controlled globally
for all BS mailboxes and is updated on an unknown timetable.
"Brightmail" IIRC is the vendor/product used by BSIS.

Right...I have it set on ON and don't even bother to check it.....I just
    wish that either
    a) the Mailguard had word filters or
    b) the filters on the iMac worked better......

You said you're using Netscape 4.7. If you'll upgrade to the current
(for OS 9) 7.02, you'll get better filtering. And if you'd upgrade the
Mac to Panther, you'll get a whole world of new options.

Here's someone else who feels that way, Dan. Netscape 7 is real bad news.
Netscape 4.7 was (believe it or not) my browser of choice until I upgraded.
Quit using Netscape altogether after about two weeks 7.

I've heard/read nothing but bad news re upping to NS 7......not doubting your
suggestions, but I'm just hoping to find a small solution while I'm still
    using the Mac.....thanks tho.....

I've upgraded dozens of clients to NS 7 without any problems. I used it
myself before I began using Safari as my main browser in OS X.
