Major and ongoing problems w/contribute

Hi all,

Were unhappy contribute users. Rather fed up ones too.

We have a really simple website that we try to maintain w/contribute. To date
we continually have problems with how it works (or does not) in terms of
updating its content

We advise the training industry on other Macromedia programs (MX) as being
industry relevant, so we know that the products should be good, but Contribute
is about as useful as a one legged man at an arse kicking contest when it comes
to reliable and consistent web site updating.

We get all sorts of problems. Our Office Manager, (who has a Masters Degree
in IT) cant get it to work consistently either, so its not that we are luddites
here.

My comment/question is: is Contribute lll (the return of the program) worth it
or do we dump all and sundry and go to other options for content management?

well, what can we say.

site, get your Aussie reps to contact us, so that we can discuss with them our
concerns over what is a significantly underperforming product.)

Well, since you don't tell us what kinds of problems you're having it
would be hard to tell you if the next version is any better. We use
Contribute for 60 non-technical editors and have precious few problems.
Most of the problems we do have are user error, not Contribute error.

You may not be luddites but it doesn't seem that you know how to use
Contribute very well. Exactly what problems are you having?

PS. Having a masters in IT is no guarantee that someone know how to
figure out technology. It just means they are educable.

Can you elaborate on some of the problems you're having and I can try to
address those specifically with regard to version 3.0?

I had used version 2 only briefly but there has been a lot of major
improvements in the software since then.
