Make a Video CD w/o Quicktime ??
Is it possible with director MX 2004 to create a CD for windows that will play
a video that does not require the user's computer to have quicktime?
Just put it in - and the movie plays...
If not, what are my other options (Iv'e tried in Flash, but the projector
seems to choke the computer)
Thanks

Re: Make a Video CD w/o Quicktime ??
The common scheme with previous director versions was to play mpeg-1
files using DirectMedia or AdvancedMPEG xtra. As long as DirectMedia
services are available as in normal windows installation one is in
business.

if you want maximum portability you have to take a xtra like
MPEGAdvance and encode your video in MPEG-1.
Of course you could bundle your application with quicktime for windows
but there is no guarantee that the users likes installing a new
application nor he has the system privileges to do so.
I havent looked at MX2004 yet, maybe it brings along a mpeg-player so
that there is no more need to take a xtra anymore ... (?)

Re: Make a Video CD w/o Quicktime ??
Thanks guys,
I am really in a bind here, and would greatly appreciate any further help on
this...
1) MPEG - same as Motion JPEG? - what programs can I use to create this...
will after effects, premiere, or iMovie do it?
2) DirectMedia or AdvancedMPEG xtras... I don't see them in MX 2004... MPEG 3
import/export is the closest.
what's the deal here?
Thanks for responding!
