Making button link in flash form (2nd posting) - Coldfusion - Advanced Techniques

Okay this is proving to be very hard, for no good reason. I have a cfform that is type flash. I have buttons that I want to be links. However this is very hard because of the following 1) Button names cannot have a . in them, so I cannot have real page names such as index.cfm 2) You cannot use any javascript in flash cfforms, so any sort of onclick javascript code seems to be out. 3) I have pages in different directories, so I cannot just attatch .cfm to the end of all variables and redirect the user ...

    Okay this is proving to be very hard, for no good reason. I have a cfform that

    3) I have pages in different directories, so I cannot just attatch .cfm to the
    end of all variables and redirect the user there, becasue I have pages in
    members/ and administration/.

    Can anyone come up with a quick and easy solution for how to make buttons that
    send users to a different page, when you cannot have the real page names in the
    button name itself, and some pages are in different dirs? Here is a sample of a
    button I am using.

    <cfinput type="submit" value="Submitted Pics" name="site_gallery">
    The name site_gallery is the actual name of the page, without the .cfm. Also I
    have buttons like

    <cfinput type="submit" name="account_options" value="Account Options">
    There are two problems with this button, 1) That it doesn't have the .cfm on
    the end of it like the other one, 2) the fact that this page is in the members/
    directory, so that just adds more complexity to the situation.

    Give them on click event handlers. I think, but am not sure that the
    actionscript function you want is geturl().

    So something like
    <cfinput type="submit" name="U_delete_account" value="Delete Account"
    onclick="geturl(members/delete_account)">

    Im asking if thats right just becase of some cirstances its kinda hard to
    test right now, and I want to make sure thats the syntax, because I know
    absolutly nothing about flash or actionscript besides its hard as hell and is
    somewhat like c++.
    BTW Thanks for the help.

    Ah yes, my bad, the actual thing should look like
    <cfinput type="submit" name="U_delete_account" value="Delete Account"
    onclick="geturl(members/"U_delete_account.cfm)">

    because its in the members dir it needs the members/
    K, I will try this out and let you know how it goes. Also my flash form seems
    to load rather slow, I have the timeout cranked up pretty high, about 6000, and
    i don't know what preloader is, but that is set to true, seems like it would be
    a good thing. I just takes longer than I think it probably should, maybe thats
    just how it is. Thanks for your help.

    onclick="getURL('administration/a_managetutorials.cfm');">

    They don't work, but they don't error. They just lead to the same page, you
    click the button and they just go to the same page your already at. I don't
    know why. Ill post the whole form.

    Your using a submit, if this is the case just put it in the form action.

    But if you want it to be from a button use a standard button, also not sure if
    it's a typo but your missing the closing double quote of the onclick and you
    should also include a semi colon

    <cfinput type="button" name="U_delete_account" value="Delete Account"
    onclick="geturl(members/U_delete_account.cfm);">

    Well your half right. Of course changing my type from submit to button made it
    work, which is very cool. However in none of my code am I lacking quotes or
    semi colons, or at least no place I can see. Either way, it works now and I
    have you to thank. Thanks!

    What colors do you want to change on the buttons ?

    Anyway the following link gives you every thing you need to know about the

    Okay thanks a bunch man! I have got the buttons just the way I want them thanks
    to that link. I just cannot seem to change the tab color of my tabbed
    navigation. I cannot find anything that affects their color, right now all
    items in my form, including: the cfform tag itself, cfgroup objects, and the
    buttons themselves all have a variable called buttonstyle that has the following
    <cfset buttonstyle =
    "fillColors:##0099ff,##0066ff;color:##000000;textR ollOverColor:##3333ff;backgrou
    ndColor##0099ff;">

    But the tabs are still white. I dunno what to do to change em, I looked
    through that doentation and could find nothing related to tab color. If you
    want to see what im talking about check out www.digitalswordsmen.com. Thanks
    again.

    Alright I guess Ill start guessing and checking. The only prob is that like for
    some reason many times when I upload a new version of a page the changes don't
    take effect, even after cleaning the cache and history and all that, many times
    it can take upto 10 minutes to view changes that where made. Its very strange.
    Thanks though, ill try that themecolor thing.

    Sigh, okay using your technique, I was able to slightly change the shading of
    the button, but not able to completely recolor it, and that was only when the
    button was clicked on. The tabs that are not active remain to be the same gaudy
    white color. Any ideas? This seems to be much harder than need be.
