Managing test and live sites in Dreamweaver
Hello ! Does anyone have any guidelines or best practices for managing one
site that has different system test, user acceptance test and live environments
? These environments would normally have different versions of the same pages
on them as they go through enhancement and testing, and I just wondered whether
there is any streamlined way of bulk moving signed of pages up to another
environment in Dreamweaver - plus any other suggestion/best practices you may
have been using or know of. Many thanks Graham.

Re: Managing test and live sites in Dreamweaver
i personally have a test server locally on my machine, which i use to engineer
my pages, i also have a seperate web server which hosts the live site. Within
dreamweaver i have seperate sites defined for each version and when something
is ready to go live i simply move the file from the 'mysiteIIS' folder to the
'mysiteFTP' folder manually I then upload. In summary i treat the different
environments as completely seperate sites and just transfer manually between
the two when needed. I can not find any functionality within dw to cope with
this in a better way.

Re: Managing test and live sites in Dreamweaver
Thanks for that answer - it's the way I was going to go, but just wanted to
know if there was a better way or an extension or something within DW -
obviously not. May be in DW MX 2005 ? We can hope.
