    Default Manipulating a 3d object

    Hi,

I am very new to Director, but I have made a 3d model in 3ds max, and have
been able to import it as a new cast member. I want the user to be able rotate
it with the mouse, and choose different parts of the model; which will take
them to different parts of the site.

Is this possible, and if so how can I do it?!

    Any help very much appreciated.

    Simon.

    Hi,
there are prewritten scripts in Director (I use Director MX) that will help
you to do some of the things you want.

Just go to: Window / Library Palette
and select 3D actions from the Library button.
You can use those scripts by dragging them onto your 3d cast member. I think
you have to drag a 3d trigger first for the scripts to work.
Good luck and do not hesitate to ask any more questions

    Hi kterz,

Thanks for the reply. I've looked through my list, but can't really seem to
find anything of use. I downloaded ChromeLib after reading an article, and
even reading through it, I think I might have got it to work, but couldn't
figure out how to preview it (do I just click play and watch the stage?), or
export it into a format I could view it in bar avi, mov.

A slider to rotate the object, or just to be able to drag/rotate it around is
what I'm after. Then I need to make the different elements links to other
    parts of the site.

    Any more help greatly appreciated.

You can learn how to drag and rotate an object (demo online available) at our
old ("but gold") free webcourse at the lesson:

Better to read all the lessons about game creation using Director 3D...
