Map Help
Hello,
Perhaps someone can help me. I am attaching a fla. file (which has been both
"Stuffed" and "Zipped" - depending on your operating system) which contains a
number of interactive maps. I am not the creator of this file but I have been
asigned to edit some of the information within it. I assume that the source of
my particullar problem lies within the actionscript coding since I can't seem
to find any other expalnation for it. All of this script has been very well
documented by the original builder of the file but I'm having a lot of trouble
trying to update certain graphical elements within the main library
files...Perhaps someone out there can help me.
There is a fair amount of actionscript pertaining to how the map(s) and
navigation devices function. Within the library of this file there are several
folders. One of the folders, "floor plans", contains a few subfolders. The
specific folder, "t building", has movie clips of the various floorplans in
that building. I am attempting to edit one of these clips to reflect recent
remodeling done on that floor (specifically, "t_1st"). That's the easy part as
I can edit these clips (i.e.change room numbers, remove room walls, etc.). The
problem is is that when I do change the properties (the afforementioned room
numbers, etc.) and save these changes within the file's library and then
publish it into a .swf format the final interactive map remains the same. In
other words, I have changed the library componnets but this obviously does not
affect the Flash file "in the grand scheme" of things. I guess I'm editing the
wrong file or componnet (!?). There must be embedded within the actionscript (I
assume) another operator that ultimately controls the final content/output of
these floorplans.
I personally do not know enough about specific actionscript to figure out why
my editing attempts are not working. I do realize this is somewhat of a complex
problem but if there is anyone out there that could assist me in any way I
would be tremendously appreciative
Thanx
