Maps, anybody?
Hi,
I need to create some maps for a client in the travel industry showing
travel itineraries superimposed on political or physical maps.
Can someone suggest a (free or very low cost) source for basic vector images
of maps, which I could then edit (e.g. by adding layers) to create the
custom maps for my client?
Thanks
SL

Re: Maps, anybody?
Try Map Resources (formerly Cartesia Software) good maps and easy to use. The
down side is that you need to have a copy of illustrator to open the file to
save for FreeHand. They used to provide FreeHand maps, and might still if you
give them a ring.

good luck.

Re: Maps, anybody?
MapResources are excellent vector maps. Very detailed, and spread across a good
number of layers that will give you editing flexibility.
I don't think they need to be saved out of Illustrator first. They're in a
version of Illustrator that can be opened directly by FreeHand. I believe
they're in Illustrator EPS format, compatible with Illustrator 8.
Also note that Illustrator does not--and never has--saved or exported files in
FreeHand format.
