Markers in Quicktime trigger actions fine, except with the file Ineed
This is a real specific question about a problem with markers not working
with a Quicktime file that I'd like to use to trigger actions in Director.
I'm hoping someone out there has some experience in this area.
A few years ago, I paid a video production company to help me digitize some
videotape onto my Powerbook G3 as a Quicktime movie, capturing it with
Strata VideoShop 4.5. The resulting Quicktime files look great, but are not
functioning as Quicktime files in one respect.
I have attempted to add markers using Bias, Inc.'s Peak audio editing
software. The markers are needed to trigger actions in a Macromedia Director
Shockwave movie in which the video will be embedded.
The markers are not triggering properly, and I have been told by Bias tech
support that my Quicktime video was probably not originally digitized as
true Quicktime, which is a requirement for the markers to work. This is
surprising, since the video was captured using a Mac and everything else
about it behaves like a normal Quicktime movie.
To Peak's credit, I have tried the whole markers/triggering process on other
Quicktime files (that I didn't create) and they do work just fine, so I'm
tending to agree there's something up with the file.
I'm wondering if you can shed any light on this issue.
With the experience I'm sure you guys have had with Quicktime, is there a
way to get rid of anything that wouldn't be in a "built by Quicktime"
original?
I've been exporting, saving as something else, etc., but I can't get it
working. I also have access to a friend's Final Cut Pro, which I've also
used to try to solve the problem to no avail.
I'm now desperate to get this video working on the Internet, and that's why
I'm revisiting this issue now. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks for the help.

Cue points don't work with the streaming option on...it sounds like if you
are trying to play this on the internet that you might have checked the
streaming option.
