master page text frame problems
hi there,
im just getting to grips with indesign 2.0 and i am having a small problem.
have a multiple page document with a master test frame -- this works beautifully and the text flows through all the pages in the correct order.
however i want another text frame that appears on all pages but doesn't necessarily have text in it.
try to add another text frame to the master page, which i can do but no matter what i try i can't seem to add text to it from any other page other than the master page.
if i add text on the master page obviously the text appears across all pages.
but i just want a frame appearing in the same place on each page and to be able to add text in that frame on different pages....
is there something that only allows one central master page text frame?

Re: master page text frame problems
Lee, put your second text frame on your master page, then go to a page where you'd like to enter text in it. Ctrl+Shift+Click on the frame, (master page item override), set an insertion point, and type away. Repeat on other pages as desired.

Re: master page text frame problems
You can put any number of text frames on a master page, and they will all behave the same. Your second frame is the same as the first until you perform the master page item override, which makes it a normal page item.
