Default master pages and creating PDFs

I've just switched to InDesign CS and have come across a problem that's puzzling to me:

In a PDF that I created there are pages that show master elements other than what I've created, i.e. that in InDesign I've specified "A" but the PDF shows "B". This only seems to occur when facing pages use different masters.

I created the PDF by printing to file and then running the PS file through Distiller.

    Anybody with thoughts on this?

    Thanks!

I created the PDF by printing to file and then running the PS file through
    Distiller.

Are you required to use this method?
    IMO, it's better using File>Export>PDF

Well, my understanding was always that you had better control and better results using this method but I could be wrong on that score.

In any event, it didn't solve the problem. I tried exporting a PDF straight from InDesign and got the same results.

Never mind how PDF was created. Indesign CS "always" display content of right master page over the left page, if pages use different masters, when some object on master pages fit inside crop area.
This problem occur even if you print this page on printer, etc..

It's very serious bug of Indesign CS, which doesn't exist in Indesign 2.0. I wrote a post at "Vojislav Simic "InDesign "ghostly" objects from master" 5/4/04 4:35am </cgi-bin/webx?13@@.3bb3e093/0>", but you now: "I spoke Tarzan english". Sorry.

I'm not so sure I understand exactly what it is that is going wrong.
I would love to see the file but I am not allowed to accept e-mail at work unless it's work related. If I gave you my personal e-mail I would not be able to retrieve the file from there either since most pages are blocked by the companies firewall settings. I could not get it from home either since my Internet service provider will not be ready to give me service where I live until mid June. :/

    Vojislav,

I've gone to your previous post and tried to follow your specs as closely as I can, but I can't get your results. Everything comes out as it is supposed to. Can you add anything?

It's serious bug (for newspaper, or magazine DTP).
This error didn't exist in InDesign 2.0 (neither Quark, etc).

    Now I see what's happening.

As soon as a master page item touches the spine it is treated as belonging to both sides of the spread and will print regardless of what master page is applied to that side — not overriding the applied master page but in combination with it. Even a 1 point nudge away from the spine will fix the problem; however, it is a problem, it is a bug.
