Maxxum 7D brochure - detailed
For whomever may be interested, a detailed description of the 7D is available
(24 page pdf, 3 MB) at:

Yes, it is a marketing doc, of course, but it also has a pretty complete system
and accessories guide.
Cheers,
Alan

Thanks for passing this along Alan, it offers a short but effective
visual example of the dreaded 1.5 crop factor of digital VF images for
any dSLR plagued similarly.

the imaging area (which is a 1.5 crop v. 35mm).
'plagued'? If the only format were 36x24mm in digital, there would be no
affordable DSLR's for amateurs and the very many professionals who do not own or
use full frame digital cameras. For those who want to shoot digital, the
cropped sensors are enablers, not a plague.
On the other side of the coin they also provide an effective longer focal
length, without aperture loss, which is a benefit to many. At that, shooting in
the best part of the lens is a further benefit. The only real drawback is
shooting at very wide angles.
http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2616953&size=lg is what a 6 MP 1.5
cropped image can do ... in the right hands. But hey, this fellow is merely a
respected and well published nature photog, so maybe that doesn't count.
You can take the attitude that only 100% 36x24 is 'valid' and pay through your
nose for it, or take the attitude that what is available at an affordable price
works very well and work with it.
Cheers,
Alan.
