menus looking in the wrong pace for files

Default menus looking in the wrong pace for files

Several of the pages that are getting called (clicked on/moused over) have had
the subsection name replaced by the word "templates".
This is happening to all pages which get copy corrections.
I make my modifications to the files sitting on my local machine.
I save them with "Ctrl S"
I highlight the file in the file list that was still showing "local view" and
then clicked the and small plug icon that makes the computer "connected to the
remote host" I click on the blue up arrow.

IT WORKS FINE WHEN:
We start at the home page. (www.SDFTI.com.)
Then clicked "About Us" in the menu bar. (This initial section's index.html
page was NOT modified)
Then put the mouse over "Who we are" to activate the drop down menu, and then
clicked "About San Diego."
The "About San Diego" (sandiego.html) page displays and seems fine. The
target being called when it works like this is correctly shown as
www.sdfti.com/about/sandiego.html.
"About San Diego" was modified this morning.
I was careful to only change copy and text alignment.

HOWEVER, THE WEBSITE FAILS AFTER VISITING A MODIFIED PAGE IN A SECTION:
Trying to connect to ANY of the other pages available from ANY of the dropdown
menus in the "About SDFTI" section fails after visiting a modified page in that
section.
Running the mouse over these other dropdowns selections, in this condition,
shows the target calling for an html page preceded by
www.sdfti.com/template/*.html.

There is a bigger problem with the Student Services section.
I modified the copy to the index.html.

The only links that work are those on the menu bar going to one defined page
and the schedule point link in the left-hand image links.
The links that fail are those from the dropdown menu labeled "links" and those
from the left-hand image labled "Enjoy San Diego" and "Weather Links."

What did I do wrong? How do I correct it? How do I prevent it?

This means that you have improperly made the links in your template file.
Can you upload it and post a link to it?

Thanks Murray ("ACE") for jumping in with some help.

My designer created the site, we downloaded it to my computer, he left for
Japan and said I could make copy changes and then just highlight the folder and
click the blue up arrow to repost it to the live server. When I did this to
the index file of couple subsections, ("career" & "non_career") this problem
cropped up. I, unfortunately, am a frontpage person and don't know the quirks
of this program. (although I am getting a sense for one big issue!)

The templates are all sitting together in their own subdirectory /Templates .
The .dwt file(s) were not modified or loaded from my computer back to the live
server.
On the file index.html, for career's section, I added two meta tags
(description and keyword) and modified the body copy before reposting it.

--> NOTE:
Immediately to follow is the html for /career/index.html
After that will be the html for /Templates/CareerStdents.dwt

Please upload the template file (the *.dwt file) to your website, and post a
link for me.

The page you have linked below is not a child page of a template, I would
need to see both the template and a child page on which the links are
failing to get an idea of what might be happening.
