Minolta Scan Dual 3 Installation problem! Please HElp me

I just got my Minolta SD3 and I can not get it to work. My computer is
500mhz WIN 98 my USB is 1.1. I keep getting the error "could not confimr
scanner connection" or it will say "Starting please Close scanner door" .
odvisouly it is closed. Also I noticed that the Light on the Scanner does
not come on no matter what I do. Should I send it back?

Before you send it back - try turning off your anti-virus program, if you have
one. Also how much RAM does your computer have? I had to upgrade mine to
256Mb to get it working properly. I have always found the Minolta helpdesk
very good - I don't know where you are but the number in the UK is 0870
0104107. Good luck!
