Misbehaving Pallettes
I am new to InDesign, so I may be missing something, but One of my pallettes is stuck open in InDesign, and nothing I do will make it go back into the right hand side of the screen.
It's a real pain when it's stuck open, because it's always in front of what I'm working on. Is there a special trick to get it to go back where it belongs?
Thanks,
Kathi

Re: Misbehaving Pallettes
What palette? What version of ID? And how exactly is it stuck?

Re: Misbehaving Pallettes
Hi Bob,
It's InDesign CS. I can't believe that I forgot to add that! I'm also running Windows XP.
It's the one with stoke, color, transparency and gradient.
You know how they start out over in the right hand margin and you click on them and they open like a drawer?
Well mine stays open, and no matter what I do, it won't close.
This is weird, I just opened InDesign again, and as usual, the pallette was open. I opened and closed the other two pallettes again, and then I tried clicking on the stuck one, and it finally closed after being stuck open for two whole weeks!
I guess it was just a hiccup somewhere in my system! (The only good computer problem, is one that goes away by itself)!
Thanks anyway,
Kathi

Re: Misbehaving Pallettes
Cool. If that ever happens again, you might consider simply trashing
your prefs which will reset everything to defaults.

Re: Misbehaving Pallettes
Thanks Bob, I'll remember that next time! I looked for a reset all pallettes button like there is in Photoshop, but didn't find one. I didn't think of trashing the prefs. (I should have thought of it after all the mentions of it on the PS Forums)!
