Missing Contribute Compatibility File
Ever since we installed Dreamweaver 8, our Contribute clients have been having
problems. The most recent problem is that with one particular file, Contribute
can open it but only has the "unavailable cursor" so that you cannot edit the
document. I thought that maybe it was a check-in / check-out problem with
Dreamweaver, so I tried to check it in. It does check in ok, but an error box
appears saying, "The file required for Contribute compatibility does not exist
on the server. Would you like to turn off Contribute compatibility?" I've
replied no, but it still doesn't work. I don't know how to reinstall this
Contribute compatiblity file. Does anyone know the process by which I would do
this? Thanks!

Re: Missing Contribute Compatibility File
Try to disable C compatibility and then enable it.

Hi
Disabling and then enabling C compatibillity does not help anything for
me. I´m having the same problem.

Re: Missing Contribute Compatibility File
I have solved it myself. I ghuess your problem might be that the
_mmServerScripts folder is placed outside your host directory? Try
starting a new site definition - and make sure your Host directory is
right. ALso make a new connection in Contribute and make sure that you
have administrator rights.
