Missing DCS2 files in Package for Svc Provider - Adobe Indesign Windows

I'm using a fresh install of the CS suite (v.1). I do a lot of 2-color work, and have been using multi-file DCS2 images for my graphics -- created in Photoshop CS from the same install on the same machine. Here's my issue: Frequently the package process only copies two of the three files for each DCS2 image; one channel is missing from the package folder. Default Missing DCS2 files in Package for Svc Provider

In the case of a magazine where I have dozens of DCS2 images (all created using the same process and stored in the same folder) when I look in the individual folders for each image, some contain all three elements, and some (most) only two. So I have to manually copy the missing elements into the package folder before shipping it off to my printer.

This is happening consistently. Is there a solution?

I don't know what's causing it, but why are you using DCS files? PSD or
PDF would be a better choice for almost all situations.

I want 2-channel images -- 2 inks; black and a second ink of my choice. A PDF would make the second color a process color, which is useless in this cirstance. As for a PSD file, once I've deleted the two extraneous channels, what's the difference? My print house has specified that multi-file DCS2 files are optimum for their ripping software; single-file DCS2 files were not working.

I used to use press-quality PDF files for the final output (instead of packaging the InDesign file), but there was an issue on their end with transparancies.

What we've settled on yields perfectly satisfactory results, as long as I go and clean up the packaging before I send it. I don't think I should have to do that....
