Default Missing Extension Manager in Dreamweaver 8

The Extension Manager is missing in Dreamweaver 8. When I click on Commands...
Extension Manager is grayed out. I had to reinstall Dreamweaver 8 for an
unrelated problem (a repair install), thinking it would perhaps reappear when I
did. But it is still missing. I had to go into Fireworks in order to open
Extension Manager and enable my Dreamweaver extensions.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to fix it?

    Thanks.

    Joan,

That Command is merely a convenience to start Extension Manager which is
a separate application. Just open the Extension Manager app directly
    like any other app.

    Hope this helps,
    Randy

I have the same issue with the Extension Manager after I installed DW 8. Even
if I open it up seperately, I cant install any extenstions. Same with my Flash
    8. cant install any extenstions.

I Upgraded to DW8 from MX, then I uninstalled MX. could that have caused the
issue? I have not yet removed my Flash MX, so I have Flash MX and 8 on the
    machine.

This does not sounds like the same issue.

Uninstalling MX should not cause a problem.

Please provide more details on what you mean by "cant install any
    extenstions".

    What extensions?
How are you trying to install them?
    How far are you getting?
What messages, errors, etc. are you getting?

    HTH,
    Randy

I have the same issue Randy.

I installed DW 8 over MX and then uninstalled MX. I redownloaded EM and
installed again but whenever I try to install any DW extension I get an error
inside EM saying it cant copy the file from c:\documetns and
    settings\administrator\local settings\temp\whatever dir\file.mxi to
Configuration/extensions or something and then at the end of the message "The
    extension will not be installed".

    Whats up with that?
