Missing Font Gremlin who Skulks in InDesign
I've read back old topics and a user called Ken Grace mentioned that he knew how to fix the problem of missing fonts appearing on a document created on that machine (the user had an imported document so Ken didn't go into it). I'm using InDesign 2.0 on a PC and have been taunted by this missing font message 'gremlin' since I started using ID 4 months ago. Any help HUGELY appreciated!!!

Re: Missing Font Gremlin who Skulks in InDesign
I'd like to help but I really can't remember what the problem was. Missing
fonts in an imported document can be caused by odd things that take on a
font assignment not being re-fonted (?!) when the text is changed. These odd
things can be spaces at the end of a paragraph, empty text frames and other
otherwise invisible font-designated items. So if, for instance a document is
created with a slug of type in font X which has a couple of spaces at the
end of a paragraph, and then the type is selected to change it to font Y,
the spaces will still be in font X. If the document is then opened on a
machine that has font Y but not font X, InDesign will complain that it can't
find font X.
There have been a lot of threads on missing fonts with a lot of suggestions
as to what could be harbouring them. I suggest you spend a bit more time
browsing through this forum.

Re: Missing Font Gremlin who Skulks in InDesign
Adobe products are beautiful and strong. It was Page Maker4 I fell in love first and Photo Shop, now? It's InDesign CS.
The folks at Adobe do a great job but somehow, somwthing goes wrong as of Microsoft.
I have encountered the international font compatibility problems with Page Maker files and now with InDesign. How about a pach?
