missing icon
my illustrator files(not illustrator app itself) doesnt show the illustrator icon. they show that windows paper icon. has anyone had this or know what to do?

Eddie,
Right click on your .AI file, Properties and see if it's sedt to "Open with Illustrator". I'll bet it says Open with Unknown File. This is a Windows thing. If you get that, then Right Click that .ai file again, and this time OPEN WITH and choose CHOOSE PROGRAM (even if Illustrator is listed), then click Choose program from list (if using XP), and then from the list choose Illustrator and put a check in front of "Always use this program to open this type of file" and OK (if not XP, choose the program directly here and still be sure to check the box for program. If you still don't get the icon, then it's a Windows situation, and you might check their knowledge base.
