Missing Image when PDF is created.

Default Missing Image when PDF is created.

Using Adobe Photo Shop 7 on Mac OS 9.2.2 a clipping is done of a photo and saved as a TIFF. The TIFF is then placed onto a Quark 4.11 document. The completed page is sent to an HP LaserJet 8100N for proofing and prints just fine. The Quark document is then sent down to Print Desk 2.6.1 (Ultimate Technologies) running on a Mac with OS 9.2.1, where it pushed through Acrobat Distiller 5.0. When you open up the PDF, the PhotoShop TIFF is missing. We found that if you move the image slightly to the right of the left edge of the Quark document (off of 0 axis), the image will show up when it is converted to a PDF. This happens sporadically (maybe 1 out of 10 times). Occasionally, I believe it is because the image is slightly off the page, but we have seen it when the image is exactly at 0 axis of the Quark Document. Page size of the Quark document is 11.625"w x 21.625"d. Acrobat setting is 1800w x 1566h. I believe the unit of measure is points. Any help in resolving this issue will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

How does it work when the image is an EPS file, rather than a TIFF? When I work with images, I notice Quark prefers EPS over TIFF.

Thanks AK. I will have them try that, but I can't see where the TIFF would be the issue, when all we do is shift the image position slightly, to get it to print. Does that not tell me that the image is fine? We'll see. Thanks again

I'll try this as well Jon, but there again, if the image prints after shifting the position, memory allocation shouldn't be an issue. Stranger things have been known to happen though. Thank you. I'll see what the allocation is.

It may have something to do with the clipping path in the tiff.

In what way? When we get the image to print, we're not doing anything to the image as far as re-clipping and re-importing.
