Missing outlined fonts?
A client sent me a Publisher file that is to be printed by another service provider. I exported the document as an eps, imported into Illustrator 10, and converted all the fonts to outlines.
However, when I open the document it tells me;
The document (document name) uses fonts or characters which are not available or are in a different format than originally specified.
Is there any way to get rid of this message?

Re: Missing outlined fonts?
With a file that started out as an MSPub, anything is possible. There may still be font associations with frames that are now empty, or contain text converted to outlines as graphics that are inline with text. There may have been text that was broken up, and was missed in your conversion to outlines...a period by itself can be a text object.
With the file open, try choosing Select > Object > Text Objects, and see if anything is selected.

Re: Missing outlined fonts?
That did it. There was text that existed as spaces in the document. Since you can't convert a space to an outline, they remained as text objects.
Thanks.

Re: Missing outlined fonts?
Sometimes selecting stray points will also uncover "fonts" (if you click
in the document with the text tool, don't type anything at all and then
switch to another tool you have in fact created a text object).
It is *always* a good idea to check the Find Font dialog box when
preparing files to send out where all the text must be converted to
paths; if the list is not blank then the destination machine will likely
report a missing font.
