Missing text in 3.0.1

I'm transitioning from PM to InDesign and have run into a problem with missing text. I'm doing a book of about 60 pages and after I started adding graphics I noticed that a half page of text is missing on page 14 and all the pages thereafter. I can go to the text editor and it's still there. From the point the text is missing in the layout view there is a rectangle with 2 gray bars and a pen in the middle showing in the text editor. All remaining text is there in the editor. What does this symbol mean and how do I get the text back into layout view? Thanks.......Ron

BTW, this is the Creative Suite and no documentation is included. Can't find anything in the Help Files.

Nobody answered this so I'm assuming it's a puzzler for even the experts.

I started over and so far it hasn't happened again. Surely would like to know what that symbol meant in the Story Editor where the disapearing text began: a rectangle with two gray bars with a symbol for the pen between the bars.

You can't copy and paste from PageMaker to InDesign with all the graphics included. Open the document with InDesign instead to convert it.

Assuming you have not changed the default key configuration Ctrl+Y or you can find "Edit in layout" in the Edit menu.
