Default mm_menu - need help creating a 2nd submenu

Hi guys!

I am using the mm_menu popup menu system by Andy Finnell which
currently has drop down menus but they are only going 1 level down. I
have not used fireworks or dreamweaver to create the menu so I have
hand coded the submenus following the pattern of the existing menus.
But now I want to add a second sub level to one of the submenus can
anybody give me a clue on what i need to change in the parameters of
the Menu() function?

Cheers

Dannster

Murray,

I am wondering WHY menus like the Andy Finnell JavaScript mm_menu.js are, as
you quoted, "a deathtrap". I have used them on several sites, and while they
can be finicky, they seem to work.

What is so horrific about them that you'd suggest re-engineering a working
site to avoid them?

Also, what is the best, most cross-platform way to create a cascading,
multi-level dropdown menu system? The samples on PVII only seem to deal with
one level menus, and I'm finding little help elsewhere...

Thanks in advance for your help (and for helping so many others)

We make an automated tool for CSS UL-based, accessible menus. It is not
free. It's called Pop Menu Magic. Our free tools and tutorials teach the
basics, but it is entitely possible to make multi-level menus. Part of
it requires reading the help file that comes with Auto-Layers (or the
newer Auto Show-Hide). If you want a complete step-by-step, you can buy
a used copy of my Dreamweaver 4 Magic book. It can probably be had for
about $5.00. The multi-level popups in that book actually are still
wonderful. All you need to do is update the free extensions.

Sorry for dropping the ball.

It's a death trap for the unsuspecting. To see why, read this -

http://apptools.com/rants/jsmenu.php

And the PVII menu approaches are the best I have ever seen.

Learn the methods and use the free extensions offered here -

http://www.projectseven.com/tutorials/navigation/snapmenus/index.htm

or

http://www.projectseven.com/tutorials/navigation/auto_hide/index.htm

and here's an example you can analyze -

http://www.projectseven.com/tutorials/autolayers/

It's so simple to do, and so code conservative, you'll wonder why you didn't
think of it yourself.
