Re: Modifier Keys (Command Option Shift) failing in FH10 OSX 10.1
Couldn't find any other topic related to my problem... this was close, so rather than start a new thread, I'm responding to this one. If readers know someplace else to look, please point me at other threads.
I use Command+Spacebar frequently in FH10 to make any tool become the magnifier tool... much quicker than having to go click the magnify tool and then go back to my drawing. I've been doing this since, gee, I don't know when... maybe since FH3. Command+Spacebar+Option changes the magnify "zoom in" to "zoom out"... one can then drag to zoom in or out and get exactly the view one wants. This makes using the magnify tool fluid and seamless. Until OSX, that is.
I'm now using MacOSX 10.2.8. On my desktop Mac, these modifiers work fine. On my G4 PowerBook, they don't. Very annoying, very frustrating. I found http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58517 that other PowerBook users may find useful:
It says:
PowerBook computers have always had keyboards that will not recognize more than two keys held down simultaneously; otherwise known as two-key lockout. Modifier keys, such as the option, command, or control, are not affected by two-key lockout.
The Apple Extended Keyboard, Extended Keyboard II, and Apple USB keyboards do not have the two-key lockout. If you are using an application that requires you to hold down multiple keys, you can use one of these keyboards.
I'm not going to haul around another keyboard... that defeats the purpose of having a portable all-in-one laptop. Any clues or workarounds out there?

shortcuts for switching layout conflict with the Zoom tool shortcuts. Go to
Mac OSX System Preferences > International > Input Menu > Options and
disable the shortcuts. This works fine for me on my iBook under OS 10.2.6.

Re: Modifier Keys (Command Option Shift) failing in FH10 OSX 10.1
For general "modifier keys won't work" issues Adobe has something http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/2ec96.htm
Apart from the command+spacebar thing where you have to click after dragging, the disfunctional modifer key issue seems to have gone away with recent issues of OS 10.
