Trying to cut a few wedges out of a white circle using the Divide tool, but key lines disappear when I activate. Any suggestions?...

By key lines do you mean the wedge you're using to divide? Or do you
mean you're using the knife tool and the path highlight disappears?

There is a Preferences in Object for "Path operations consume original
paths". That may account for your experience.

D.Plank: Thank you - that was it!
Managed to cut wedges from solid circle and move result to layer up following
action. That check box off in Preferences was it.
Appreciate your knowledge and can know rush the job through.
    Cheers :-)
