Modifying with odd characters

    Default Modifying with odd characters

My primary key can be numbers or text and sometimes has # and + in its value.
When I try to modify values with # or + it will not allow me to pull up that
job to be modify. But if I modify any other value, it works fine. It seems like
if I try to do anything with a value that contains these characters # or +, I
am unable to do it; but it works fine for all other values. What is it am I
missing? Do I have to make a change in my access database ( where the data is
being stored ) to fix the problem? Or is it in the program itself?

Using: ASP VB, MS Access, Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004

    Thank you in advance.

I always make my primary keys unique integers. Keying on text, as you're
finding, can be problematic. I would recommend switching to an integer-based
    key and re-tool your DB.

You see I started out doing this and the funny thing was when I started
creating my forms I found it easier to use the text values as the primary keys,
but I will go back and assign the autonumbering and make that the primary key.
I was hoping I would not have to do this, because now I have to go through and
modify a lot of the forms. Should have kept it the way I had it. Oh well, I
    will know better next time.

    Thank you,
