More than One Crop?

Basically I'm trying to create a business card, but want to fit like 8, 3.5"X2.0" cards on one piece of 8.5"X11" paper when printing. I made a rectangle around the card in the dimension I want and then crop it, and it makes those lines around the corners like it should. Now is there a way to duplicate that including the cropped area? I need 8 more cards with the same cropped section around them so everything is identical and any images on the cards are cut off the same.

Maybe someone can just suggest a better way of doing this too. Thanks in advance!

Use the crop feature from the Filter menu not the Object menu.

Hi doug, thanks for the reply. I though it was going to work the way I wanted it to, but it ended up not doing what I was expecting. The crop worked on one image, I then just copied the whole image including the crop and made 7 more, making 8 total cards on one page like i was trying to do. Now when I went to export, didn't want to print just yet to save paper.......... it exported the image but with the crop lines as well........ the crop lines were not invisible as the "object crop" was. ........... so now what lol?

I'm pretty sure I got my business card setup from a sample file in AI, but that was in AI9.

Maybe look for samples or templates in that folder or beg someone with a lower AI for the file.

ya......... there is a template in CS for business cards but the thing is......it only has one card per page........ if i can just print that one image 8 times on one piece of paper, I would be done. I don't want to print 8 seperate pieces of paper and have to cut them all out afterwards. The cards are only 3"x2.5", I mean think about all the unused paper for each piece.......there's got to be an easier way of doing this.

How hard is it to create a template manually? Is this template generating crop and registration marks in some way? Jeez, be thankful you never had to work in the days of paste-up when you had to create crop marks with ruling pens and manually place your registration marks from Formatt tape! ;-)
