Mouse Lockup with 10.2.8 - Mac Applications & Software

Anyone else having problems with mouse lock-up with a beige G3? Twice since I upgraded to 10.2.8, I've had my mouse lockup inside Safari, something it never did before. Moving the mouse around does does nothing, though the CPU usage remains normal and the keyboard works fine. Both mice lock up: the stock ADB mouse that came with my beige G3 and a Microsoft mouse that uses an add-on USB card. Force Quitting Safari doesn't clear up the problem nor does Restarting the Finder. I end up rebooting. This problem has only happened since upgrading to 10.2.8 and, so far, ...

since I upgraded to 10.2.8, I've had my mouse lockup inside Safari,
something it never did before. Moving the mouse around does does
nothing, though the CPU usage remains normal and the keyboard works fine.

Both mice lock up: the stock ADB mouse that came with my beige G3 and a
Microsoft mouse that uses an add-on USB card.

Force Quitting Safari doesn't clear up the problem nor does Restarting
the Finder. I end up rebooting.

This problem has only happened since upgrading to 10.2.8 and, so far,
    has only happened inside Safari.

Looks like Apple let 10.2.8 slip out the door a bit too soon.

That is why they pulled it.
There are many reports of how it disrupts G3s in various ways.

    Wrong cheese? ;-)

No problems here with a beige G3,
except the first warm reboot took a minute trying to get the
builtin ethernet up, when I was already using an Asante 590 card..

I had minor peripheral problems with mdd G4s which went away
after a cold shutdown and power off everything.
