Default Move Bitmap After Paste Inside

After I paste a bitmap inside a vector object, I can never reposition it. I
tried the subselection tool and the hand tool and selecting each object in
the layer panel, all to no avail. Anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks,
    Chet

Open up the layers panel. Between the thumbnail of the bitmap and the
vector mask you will see something that looks like a chain link. Click on
it to make it disappear. You should now be able to freely slide the bitmap
around within the vector mask. When you are happy with the position, click
between the bitmap and vector mask thumbnails in the layers panel again to
    re-lock their relative positions.

    Cheers,
    Sam

there's also another way ala freehand. when you select the 'group' of mask
and image you'll see in the very centre a small blue cross with arrows
pointing in 4 directions. when you hover over this cross your pointer
changes from the selection to the subselection pointer (white mouse pointer)
and you can grab the image with this 'handle' and move it within the mask.
it's a bit trciky to get hold of but once you have you might find it easier.
or then again you might not!

i don't even remember using it before (probably missed it cos it's so
unobtrusive) but at work they have paste-inside frenzy sessions using
freehand figured it might work the same!
been getting more used to freehand but it's a bit of a dog - much prefer FW

Thanks for your reply. It works of course and the freehand tip is good to
    know.
