    Default Move Palettes

Is there anyway to move the palettes (Score, Cast, Message, etc...) off the screen or out of the program? I have dual monitors and it would be super if I could move the palettes to the second monitor.

I just upgraded from Dir. 6 and thought for sure this would have been something they added to MX. Is there a preference somewhere where I can change this?

    TIA

I believe if you open the application across both monitors you can then move palettes to the second window.

Thanks Charles, that is a work around to this. I'm just frusterated that it's not something that is built into Director. It seems to be a function that is available in the other Macromedia MX products. (not sure on Fireworks though, I use Photoshop) At least in Dreamweaver they give me the option on how I would like to work area set up.

Is there a reason or some logic as to why it's like this?

    Thanks

Not sure. I only have dual monitors for my Mac. My PC does not have dual monitors so i can't test to see the functionality. It is most likely a sub-windowing issue. Meaning that the palettes are sub-windows of the application window rather than thier own stand-alone windows. Sub-windows can only exist within the master window. When i get home, i will run a little test to see if this is the case for the PC version. I will let ya know what I come up with.

    Stay tuned.

    Indeed they are sub-windows.

Submit a request to have the palettes in Director made into standard windows so they can be moved outside the application window. Use the wishform on Macromedia's site.
