Move to a frame takes forever
Hi All:
I have a movie in which, while the movie is NOT playing and no Lingo is
running, moving to frame 4 takes about 15 seconds. This happens when I use the
controls at the bottom of the stage as well as within the score window.
Any ideas on how to reduce this delay?
Thanks,
Paul Rinzler

Re: Move to a frame takes forever
If you were using very large media files, like print resolution bitmaps
scaled down on the stage, there may be memory overhead issues.
I would eliminate sprites one by one and try by a process of elimintion
to identify if one particular one is at fault.

Re: Move to a frame takes forever
Dear JB:
Ah, you figured it out! Thank you so much. It wasn't a large bitmap, but it
was several fields that I needed to put blank lines into but failed to empty
them, so as I re-ran the movie, the fields kept getting more lines in them, and
eventually had thousands of blank lines. Once I put a line in my script that
empties them before I fill them with blank lines, the delay went away.
I would never have figured it out, I'm a amateur at this, so thank you *very*
much.
