MSIE v5.1.7
Friends,
Can someone please post what the optimum minimum and preferred memory
allocations are for MSIE v5.1.7?
I have a 333MHz Imac running MacOS 8.6 with 128 megs of built in memory,
129 megs with virtual memory on.
I ask because I an constantly running into the dialogue box that informs
me that I do not have enough memory to open a new window or load this or
that plug in - you get the idea.
Thank you,
uce.

I am active in an MSN newsgroup. I tend to read posts, open reply
windows, send messages and then repeat the process many times in a row.
During the process I might open a second window and search for an item
to confirm that what I am about to say is accurate. When I am finished
checking the fact I shut that second open window.
I go through this process many times in a row.
After awhile I get a dialogue box saying that there is not enough memory
to open another window.
That is my dilemma and if you can help me resolve it I would be grateful.
Thanks,
uce.

but what you're describing to me sounds like a memory leak. You can
observe that by leaving the "About This Computer" window open in the
background and watch the bar graphs. If that's the case, there is no
optimal memory setting.
