Do you have the "Mark read articles read on another server" option
turned on? (its in the "Article Management panel under Preferences).

You might try MT-NW 3.3b1. I've been using it since last October, and
haven't had any significant problems with it.

I do use 3.3b1, and I have experienced this particular problem only
after going through some binary groups. I rarely do that, but the next
start of MT-NW after doing so invariably gives me a corrupt cache error.
The only other problem is that it insists on telling me that my default
browser is too old -- I use Netscape 7.02!!! I do wish Simon would find
the time to get 3.3 finalized.

FWIW, I've always had problems downloading binaries with MT-NW, both the
"classic" and the OS 10 versions. For that (and other) reasons, I
find it much easier to download all binaries - even Mac binaries - with
Agent on Windows XP, then move the files over to the OS 10 box via LAN.

I've used MT in one form or another for a very long time and NEVER had
any trouble downloading binaries. My only problem has been with
decoding in some forms, but downloading has always been a breeze --
except that Charter provides access through a contract with SuperNews
and caps my damn download rates in binaries at about 16K!!

The problem I always seem to have is that files that download completely
with Agent will sometimes download incompletely with MT.

IOW, I'll get an incomplete download with MT, move 2 chairs over to my
main Windows machine, go to the same newsgroup in Agent, and get a
complete download. I can go back to MT, refresh the headers, download
again and it's *still* incomplete. After a few episodes of this, I
    gave up.

I dunno if it's something I'm doing wrong, or a setting or whatever.
All I know is I have less trouble with Agent. I'm using a cable modem,
and both machines are using the same account on Newscene, so I'm looking
    at *exactly* the same newsgroups.

OTOH, Agent s for ordinary reading/replying. I tend to always use
MT for this - as I am now - even if I'm in a "Windows" newsgroup!
