multilanguage changeable by the user? - Mac Programming

Hello My application is translated to several languages. The language-dependant resources 'MENU', 'STR#', 'STR ' and some others are linked to the prg body and ready is the prg. Now I want the user to be able to change the language (maybe after a restart). What is the best approach? When linking all the different language resources to the prg I have to change their resource-ids and keep care that the right resources are used. Seems to be complicated... Is it better to make seperate resourcefiles and link them dynamically? How to do this? thanks in advance Greetings Klaus...

Default multilanguage changeable by the user?

    Hello

    What is the best approach?

have you looked at how macosx does this? the user establishes the order
of preferred languages in System Preferences. in your app bundle, you
include a separate .strings file for every localization. there are
functions to retrieve them, and based on the user's preferred
language(s), they return strings that are the closest match. that keeps
you from having to provide any sort of interface for letting the user
select the language. they only have to do so once, system-wide.

sounds like you're doing things the old-skool os9 way, so i don't know
how much trouble it is to convert.

    Thanks for your answer.

You are guessing right :-) (sorry for not mentioning it)

My app is classic and I want to keep the support down to system 7.
The OSX-solution sounds nice (seems to be something like I know from
Java...) but I must have code to support older systems.
