    Default Multiple Administrators

Is it possible to set multiple administrators in Contribute CS3? I would like
to have someone else available as backup to make changes in case I'm not
available. The administrator field is editable. Is it possible to simply put in
another email address separated by a comma and give the other person the admin
    password?

    Thanks,

    Sylvia

You can do this like this:

    1. in the main menu go to Edit, Administer Websites
    2. pick you website and go to Users and Roles
    3. click Send Connection Key
    4. check: Yes, Include ftp settings, click Next
    5. choose Administrator, click Next
    6. check Save to local machine and enter a password for your
    administrator-back-up-person
    7. save the key to your computer
    8. Send the key to your back-up admin by mail and provide him/her with the
    password

    Default Multiple Administrators

We have had two administrators for our website before so I know that it should
be possible. It?s just that now after changing the password for our website and
I need to remake the keys I can not make more than one administrator. I don?t
get any information in the help-function. There I only find statements that
hint that it is not possible: "You can become the website administrator of any
website that does not have an administrator associated with it."

Does anyone know how I can make to persons administrator of the same site?

I think this i caused by the fact that you are an administrator by using a
connection key. When you want to be the main administrator you will have to
connect to the website by creating your own connection.

Thank you for your answere! But that should not be the problem. I have
created my own website connection. But when I under Edit, my connections, want
to make a key for another administrator it won?t let me, I can only produce
keys to publishers or writers. Look here for pictures:

Thanks for the images, that makes the problem clear.

You are confused about the roles. Roles are: Writer, Publiser, Administrator.
You can send users connection keys to be a user/member in one of these
    original specific roles.
Of course you can also create new roles, but these roles are at the same level
    as the original ones.

Example: you created the role Helena Grennberg and now you can assign users to
that new role by sending them a connection key. But I have the impression that
Helena Grennberg and Rolf Berglund are really ment to be users and not roles.

Assinging users to roles is most of the time better then creating a role for
each user. You can image that all the users Helena Grennberg and Rolf Berglund
can function in the same role as Publishers or Writers. When you want them to
have changed privileges you only have to adjust one role. You should only
create a new role if you want certain users to have specific privileges. And a
role will not have the name of a user, but some to the point role-name like
'Textwriter' for people who are not supposed to add images to the site.

You cannot create an new administrator role, but you can send someone else a
connection key to be a user in the administrators role. His/Her name will
appear under the administrator role after they activated the connection key.

    Thank you so much !!!

Now I got everything clear. I have been creating new roles for each user
instead of adding them under the role I want them to have. So you have to
click directly on the "Sent connection key" button when you want to ad a user.

I have now succeded to make another user under the administrator role! I am so
happy and thankful for your help.
